"Competition in terror remembrance: 22 July and pupils' contributions"



10 years after the terror attack in Norway 22 July 2011, the 22 July Center announced a competition for pupils in schools. The center is a museum and has a role in maintaining memories and create knowledge about 22 July. The challenge for the competition was formulated as “22 of July never again” and “we cannot forget.” The contributions from the pupils varied in quality and style; drawings, videos, poems etc. This year a similar competition was announced, with racism as topic. In this CASR-lunch I will talk about analysis of the material with a specific focus on what stories about 22 of July the material reveals.
