Principles and Criteria for Grants from the Research Committee (RC)
Documents and minutes are published on the MF intranet (Norwegian only)
- In general, all applications for the use of annuity must be approved before action is taken.
- Annuity is to be used for scholarly activities and operations within the position in which the teacher in question is employed.
- Participation at conferences should preferably result in publishing, even though this is not a strict demand.
- Applicants must use up their annuity before applying for further support. Applications that do not give an account of this will be returned.
- Applications involving expenses that lead to income (publishing points), for proof- reading, publishing support etc., can be approved administratively by the Rector and Pro-Rector if they are under NOK 15,000.
- As a rule, publishing support must be applied for from external sources (The Research Council of Norway, The Fritt Ord Foundation etc.) before RC / MF grants such support.
- RC accepts applications for professional grants for projects / running research projects where a publishing plan with publishing points is indicated.
- RC accepts especially applications where cooperation, preferably international and at the highest level, is involved.
- RC does not normally accept applications for transcription.
- RC does not normally accept applications for translation. Translation does not lead to publishing points.
- RC's budget is administered in such a way that grants can be distributed fairly through the year. Normally, applications for support are processed at the last meeting of each semester. There are therefore two deadlines each year: May 1st and November 15th.
