Regulations for the Research Committee at MF

The Research Committee is to:
- assist the rector and the institution's managing bodies with the strategic planning of research and the situation surrounding the recruitment of researchers at MF
- work on strategic research measures and arrangements for incentive funding for disciplinary groups and teachers
- appoint expert committees when research fellows and postdocs are employed, and, on the basis of the committee's findings, make a pronouncement containing a ranking of the applicants
- facilitate national and international researcher and research cooperation
- have the overall responsibility for adherence to the guidelines for research ethics, and for the adequacy of the institution's quality assurance
- have its attention directed towards the academic and pedagogical facilitation of the institution's Ph.D. programmes
- conduct the enrolment into the Ph.D. programmes
- formulate draft program plans at the Ph.D. level, as well as approve minor changes in the same
- ensure that the education offered by the institution complies with current laws and regulations
- make decisions regarding dispensations and transferring into the Ph.D. programmes
In cases where the research committee cannot itself make a decision, it is to promote issues through the rector. The rector is responsible for preparing meeting items and minutes.
The Appointment of the Research Committee and Its Members
The rector appoints the research committee, which is to be composed of a leader, deputy, at least three permanently employed teachers with one substitute and a PhD student. The term of office is two years. The chief librarian is to participate with observer status.
