Bringing the wow-factor: on atmospheres as practices

This talk explores the concept of atmospheres from a practice theoretical perspective and in relation to ethnographic fieldwork in a Copenhagen Night Church. In doing so, I explore the Night Church aesthetics as simultaneously an aesthetics of immersion and ambiguity. Emphasizing the former, I focus on how it enables (some) participants to emerge themselves in an affective atmosphere.
