Public Defense Fridtjof Willem Leemhuis

Fridtjof Willem Leemhuis will publically defend his thesis for the degree of PhD at MF on 2 June 2026.

Kl. 13:45: Public defense of the thesis:

Lost And Bound: The Rebinding of Codex Sinaiticus at the British Museum in 1935.

The trial lecture and public defense will be held in English.  

The entire public defense will be streamed online. The link will be posted here in advance.

One may request electronic access to the thesis at phd@mf.no from 18 May to 2 June 2026. 

Professor Brent Nongbri and Professor Blossom Gordana Champlain have supervised the candidate  .

Ordinary examiners will be:  

• Professor Paul Michael Kurtz, Ghent University, Belgium 
• Professor Yii-Jan Lin, Yale Divinity School, USA 
• Professor Liv Ingeborg Lied is the third member of the examination committee. 

Rector Sturla Stålsett will chair the public defense.
