I am a PhD Candidate at MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society. My work focuses on history education, memory and conflict in conflict-affected and post-conflict societies, particularly Sudan and South Sudan. My research looks at how teachers navigate difficult and contested histories in secondary school classrooms where I explore the tensions between official curriculum narratives and the community memories that students bring from their lived experience of those conflicts.
I hold an MSc in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh, where my work explored how the moral authority of religious and cultural leaders could be leveraged to promote climate change education in South Sudan, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University. I have also conducted research on Education and Displacement with the Refugee Led Research Hub at the University of Oxford.
