Professional competence areas:
- Monastic life
- Religion and masculinity
- Religious Studies
- The Catholic Church
I have a background in religious studies, with a primary focus on Christianity. My research interests include gender, power and material religion. Additionally, I use perspectives from philosophy and sociology. Previously, I researched Catholic nuns and sisters in Nordic countries.
In my Ph.D project, I want to explore different understandings of fatherhood amongst Catholic men in Norway. I am also interested in how masculinity is constructed and contested between agents. In this project, I rely on fieldwork as my primary method and a theoretical framework from religious studies and sociology.
