MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society (shortened to MF) strives to maintain personal data in a secure way and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our various interest groups such as students, donors, subscribers and employees. To this cause and with the EU Privacy Requirement (GDPR), we have prepared these privacy statements.
The privacy statements below provide information about the personal information that exists in our systems for the various groups.
The purpose of the privacy statements is to inform you about what personal data is processed, how it is processed, who is responsible for the processing, what rights you have, and who you can contact regarding privacy issues.

Privacy statement for MF's websites
This page describes the information we collect about visitors to MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society's websites.

Information that is stored about our visitors
We use the following analysis tools to fetch information about our websites' visitors:
- Google Analytics
- Monsido
- Server logs
These tools store anonymized data about visitors, which is used, among other things, to analyze the use of our websites, so we can better adapt the pages to be useful to our visitors. The tools also help us to find out what information should be more accessible.
Our server logs also contain information about visitors, including IP addresses that are defined as personal information. However, these logs are only stored locally on our webservers and are not available or shared with any external services. This information is therefore not used for any kind of tracking across services.
Advertising
MF advertises our studies and courses using, among other things, Google and Facebook ads.
The information from the analytics tools mentioned above can also be used in connection with our ads on Google and Facebook (and other media), both to customize which ads are displayed on different websites and social media, and also to analyze which ads are has received the most response.
Opt-out from cookies
If you do not want information to be stored about your visits to our websites, you have the following options:
- Turn off cookies in the web browser you use:
- Firefox: Newer versions of Firefox automatically block many analytics cookies. Mozilla Firefox's own help pages have more information, it also says how you can block more (or less) on each web page.
- Chrome: You can block cookies for specific websites in Chrome, read the Google Chrome help pages for more information.
- Edge: The default browser in Windows also has automatic blocking of many analytics cookies. You can find more information on the Microsoft Help pages.
- Safari: You can block most analytics cookies by following these instructions on Apple's help pages.

Webforms
When you fill in information in online forms on our website, whether it is registration for courses, events or other types of forms, you accept that this information is stored and processed by us for the purpose for which the form is intended.
If necessary, this information will also be transferred to external services, for example StudentWeb for course registration.
Submission data on our forms are deleted at regular intervals, a maximum of one year, to avoid information being left behind.
Newsletter
If you sign up for a newsletter, you accept that we store contact information about you and use this to send newsletters to the correct recipient. This information will not be used for any other purpose or shared with others.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time by following the instructions that will appear on each individual email.
Sharing
If you use the sharing functions on our website, you agree that information about you and the person you share content with is processed by the services you use for sharing, such as Facebook or Twitter.
We do not store information about this sharing locally with us, but the services must store this information for the sharing to work. You must examine the privacy statements of these services that are used if you have questions about these.
Built-in media contents from external sources
Some of our pages may contain embedded content from external sources, such as videos from Youtube or photos from Instagram. When these pages are displayed, the external services may store information about your visit.
