Welcome to an open guest lecture with Professor Anders Breidlid.
The lecture explores the causes of the ongoing civil war in Sudan by drawing on various conflict theories to explain the Sudan disaster. One relatively recent theory, the climate change theory, examines how environmental changes and policies can contribute to conflicts, affect state capacity, influence ethnic diversity, and cause regional spillovers. The question posed is: To what extent is this theory applicable to the civil war in Sudan?
Anders Breidlid is a Norwegian philologist and social scientist. He is a professor of international education and development at OsloMet.
Discussant: Assosiate Professor Merethe Skårås
This is an event organised by the research group Researching education in a globalized world.
