Dr. Blossom Stefaniw will join MF as Professor of the Intellectual History of Christianity in February 2021.

We are happy to announce that Dr. Blossom Stefaniw will join MF as Professor of the Intellectual History of Christianity in the new year. She will bring the Heisenberg Fellowship she currently holds from the German Research Foundation to MF and will be offered a permanent position following on from her fellowship.

Blossom is an international feminist scholar who has worked mainly on ascetic textual cultures in late antiquity, masculinity, and feminist historiography. In the coming years she will pursue her research on the Christian archive and on the representation of manuscript finds.

- She has published two well-received, highly original books; numerous important articles, one of which, on Feminist Historiography, was the most read of the Studies in Late Antiquity journal, as I happen to know as one of the editors. She has an excellent international reputation and is a sought after speaker.  And she is a wonderful person and colleague, who will be a fantastic teacher, says Susanna Elm, professor of History and Classics at University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Blossom Stefaniw is currently involved in the project Books known only by title at The Centre for Advanced Study (CAS) at The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, led by professors Liv Ingeborg Lied (MF) and Marianne Bjelland Kartzow (UiO).
