Qualitative Methods: Analysis and Writing MET-EMP920
MET-EMP920 is an elective course. The course's main objective is to provide a broad orientation to different analytical strategies in qualitative data analysis and their potential and limitations. Basic procedures for inductive, deductive and abductive qualitative study will be introduced, and the student will learn how to code and categorise qualitative data material. Analytical strategies connected to the students’ research projects will be developed through their involvement, and the course will enable the students to substantiate and argue for their analytical approach. The course also reflects on common challenges in analysing empirical material and addresses criteria for quality in empirical research.
