Practical information
Examination deadline and examination meeting
The deadline for assessment can be found on the course page in WISEflow, and in the email sent from sensor@mf.no.
The internal assessor is responsible for making contact and scheduling the assessment meeting. If the assessment is delayed due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, please contact the examination office as soon as possible (sensor@mf.no).

Students are entitled to a grade explanation if they request it. In standard exams, it is normally the internal examiner who provides the explanation (see exception for master's thesis below).
Most explanation are quite short. The explanation should account for the general principles underlying the grading and for the assessment of the student's performance. It is good practice to cite UHR's brief description of grades A-F (see "Examples" below).
A explanation should reflect the content of the grading meeting with a possible co-examiner. Additionally, grading should be based on the assessment guidelines and the learning outcome of the course description.
Explanations are written in WISEflow in the language of the exam paper (see "WISEflow User Guide").
NOTE: The examiner cannot change their mind about the grade. The grade is final. The only way for students to receive a new assessment is to submit a formal appeal.
Master's thesis explanation:
The candidate shall receive written feedback on their master's thesis. It is the external assessor's responsibility to write the justification, possibly after consulting with the internal assessor. The justification should normally be concise (but more than 10 lines). It should include the final grade and highlight aspects of the thesis that were decisive in determining the grade. It is normally written in the same language as the master's thesis and does not need to be signed with a name ("external assessor, on behalf of the assessment commission" is sufficient).
The justification should be sent by email to sensor@mf.no within the assessment deadline. Examples of previously given justifications will be sent when the assessment period begins.
For most students, the assessment of their master's thesis is one of their last contacts with MF. We ask that this be taken into consideration when preparing the justification.
