What is it like to live in Oslo as a student? And what is it like to study at MF?
Here we give you some practical tips and a picture of life as a student at MF. We want you to have a good time as a student!
MF Campus
MF is centrally located on Majorstua right next to the Police Academy, the Norwegian Academy of Music and Chateau Neuf. It is also not far from the University of Oslo at Blindern.
MF has a social and pleasant aula and a great library with reading areas and group areas. In addition, we have our own gym and gymnasium for students and staff. Daily services are also held in our chapel, and we have our own quiet rooms and prayer rooms.
MF is just big enough for you to get to know other students and your teachers well.
Do I have to be a Christian or religious to study at MF?
No, you must not. MF is characterized by a great diversity among both students and staff, also when it comes to religion and outlook on life. Here you are met and respected for who you are.
MF is built on Christian values, and we hold both services and other Christian events. But it is entirely voluntary to join, and we have many students and staff who either belong to different religions or are not religious.
Why should I choose to study at MF?
MF is known for its good social environment and an inclusive and engaged learning environment. MF is a relatively small school. Here you will get to know students across study programs, and you can get to know your lecturers. MF also has many different student organizations and an active student democracy.
We also have to mention our exceptional lecturers – many of whom are internationally recognized researchers in their fields. We hope you choose us, and think you will enjoy your time here!
A one-year program does not result in a degree, but all our one-year programs can be integrated into a bachelor or masters degree at MF. It is therefore a good place to start if you are a little unsure of what you want to study.
The one-year programs also provides teaching qualifications when combined with an educations degree, or they can be a useful supplement to other studies. The one-year programs can be relevant for various jobs within, for example organisations and public administration.
What can I become if I study religion or society?
Knowledge of religion and society is important in many parts of our society, and is becoming increasingly in demand and relevance. As a part of our teacher education, the study gives you teaching qualifications in social studies. You can also apply for a job in public administration, organisations and the church.
